If you are on this page it's probably because you have wood that may be of interest to us. The following is a guide to what we are looking for:

Q. What do we generally buy?
A. Sawn kiln dried new timber or aged reclaimed wood from demolished buildings, bridges etc.

Q. What don't we generally buy?
A. Any timber that needs re-sawing to furniture sizes including whole trees from backyards or land that is being cleared and large sections from demolition sites. However if you are in a position to process the timber then let us know.

Q. What type of wood or species are we looking for?
A. Particularly Red Gum, Red Box, Iron Bark, Bastard Box, Messmate, Yellow Stringybark, Yellowbox and rare or exotic timbers of any description.

Q. What Quantities do we require?
A. We will consider purchasing timber from one cubic meter up to one hundred. We will look at quantities less than a cubic meter if they are rare.

Q. What price do we pay?
A. Generally above current wholesale unless a considerable quantity is available in which case we will out bid any other contenders if the material is of a high grade.

Q. Do we buy non-Australian timbers
A. Yes

Q. Non-Australian species
A. We are interested in timber from anywhere in the world but only if it can be certified that it has been obtained with environmental accountability.

Specifications

  • Moisture level - Kiln dried or air-dried to no more than 11% (corrected).
  • Thickness - Rough sawn at 65 - 75mm, 50 - 55mm, 40 - 45mm or 30 - 35mm thick.
  • Lengths - Under 2.1 metres is regarded as a short and unless lengths of 1.5 - 2.1 are negotiated at a discounted rated for 'table side rail material' we will accept no more than 10% shorts in any order. Lengths of 2.4 to 3m are most commonly sought.
  • Widths - Planks 150mm and wider and flitches of all sizes.
  • Leg stock - 100 x 100, 125 x 125 and 150 x 150mm.
